We recognise that our most important resource is our people and we will only be able to deliver our vision in partnership with them. It is vital that we enable our staff and stakeholders to develop and grow in order to make Whickham a place where people want to work.

This document outlines how we support our staff and stakeholders to be the best they can be. It is designed to clearly outline development opportunities so our staff are able to give their best in the demanding and skilled roles in which they work.

We wish to ensure that training and development opportunities are available to everyone and through appraisal are tailored to individuals needs and goals.Alongside the fortnightly CPDL programme which can be found here the following opportunities are also available:

Senior Leader and Aspiring Leader Programme

We run two leadership programmes that are designed to support staff in developing their leadership skills relevant to their current roles and responsibilities. Elements of the programme are relevant to all leaders and are delivered to both cohorts as one. Other aspects are delivered separately. Participants will be expected to attend six face to face sessions and engage with some self study.

We work with other local schools to support collaboration and networking.

The programme is in addition to our CPDL programme.
